Plot summary[edit]

Jason Youngblood, commander of the Crescent Hawks mercenary group, founds himself in the middle of the Battle of Luthien. As part of the Kell Hounds, he led the defense against the Clans. He thinked about the irony of being defending Luthien, capital of the Draconis Combine, when he and his unit had always fought against them. After making a short fly to oversee the situation, he landed, but had to take off again to get rid of an Elemental. Morgan Kell ordered him to took his Haws to the city and defend it against Clan Nova Cat forces which had breached the Kuritan lines. After a short fly, he landed in the middle of a battle, recognizing Takahashi Kurita's Mech, and was surprised when the Coordinator bowed to him, and he returned the gesture while to battle ensued. Fifteen days later, once again in Arc-Royal, Jason talked with Morgan Keel. His LAM 'mech was so damaged, with replacement parts unable to be found, than he knew it cannot move or fly again, so he was devastated. Kell gave him a new 'mech, a brand-new Pjhoenix Hawk, as present. He attempted to convince him to remain with the Kell Hounds. Jason thinked about that and agreed, but asked to remain the Hawk's commander and to step back from active duty from a while, to stay more time with his son. As he was a father too, Morgan agreed.
