The Tamo Bunker was an underground bunker on planet Tukayyid, under Mount Kline, in the Tamo Mountains range.

History

After the Capiscol Martial Anastasius Focht defied The Clans to fight a battle there, a Trial of Possession for Terra, it became his secret and only command post. From that place, he directed all ComGuards forces during the battle. Prior to the Battle, Focht's commander, the Primus Myndo Waterly expressed her doubts about Focht's decision, fearing than the Clans locate the bunker and attack it, as they were specialized in headhunting missions: in fact, the same year, the heir of the Draconis Combine, Hohiro Kurita, was almost killed in a similar attack. Focht said her that all the communications connected to the planetary grid, and through substations, get to the bunker through cables and, in fact, he expected the Clans to waste time and resources saerching his location.[1]

Battle of Tukayyid

During the battle, the primus fears were almost realized but, ironically, by accident: Focht was right, and there are no indications about the Clans even suspecting the bunker's location... but a Star of OmniMechs of Clan Smoke Jaguar, the only one which operational zone was nearby the bunker, Gamma Light Supernova Star of the 122nd Striker (Clan Smoke Jaguar), during an exploration mission, passed within 30 kilometers of the Bunker. Luckily for the ComGuards, the Jaguars didn't expect the attack they received from the hidden bunker defenders, and all the Star was quickly destroyed, their communications jammed with ECM. However, if only one of them had escaped, the Jaguars would have suspected about what they were defending and probably taken the bunker and slaughtered their defenders, which could have put an end to the battle barely began.[2]

Jihad

Tamo Bunker survived the Jihad apparently undamaged, despite the Word of Blake's nuking of the planet, and after the Rasalhague Republich joined the Ghost Bear Clan to form the Ghost Bear Dominion, it became a Ghost Bear command post. In 3073 it was there where the Star Colonel Ramiel Bekker received the call from Devlin Stone, who defied him to a Trial of Posession for the planetary HPG.[3]

The Bunker

It is unknown if the Tamo Bunker was a previously excavated facility, or was built by ComStar during the Clan Invasion, Focht's people had installed on it a fully functional Star League strategic command post, equipped with an interactive, virtual-reality construct, unseen anywhere on the Inner Sphere then, outside the Clans, which allowed him to oversee almost everything.[4] It is also said than the bunkers's tunnels are protected by huge granite slabs.
