Planetary History
Nova Roma was colonized during the first half of the twenty-seventh century by the Indrus Corporation. Possessing a great deal of arable land, the planet quickly became one of the "breadbasket worlds" in the Free Worlds League. Lacking anything of strategic importance Nova Roma avoided any military attacks for the first four centuries after its settlement, remaining a sleepy if somewhat successful backwater.[1]
Third Succession War
In early June 3014, Nova Roma was the first world attacked in Anton Marik's Revolt. Elements of the Wolf's Dragoons mercenary unit, Beta Regiment, the Seventh Kommando, the Special Recon Group, and Zeta Battalion took the defenders off guard. In fact, mention of Wolf's Dragoons threw many of the militia members into a panic. Within 72 hours, Nova Roma had fallen and give Duke Anton Marik his first victory.[19]
During the attack, the Bounty Hunter operated alongside Wolf's Dragoons on Nova Roma to hunt down Janos Marik loyalists for Anton Marik's rebels. During a mop-up operation following the conquest of the planet he signaled to Natasha Kerensky (then a regular lieutenant with the Beta Regiment of Wolf's Dragoons) that a certain ravine in the Dawn River region which he had inspected was safe. When Kerensky's lance entered, they were ambushed and destroyed by enemy forces and Kerensky had to eject, being knocked unconscious. Her Marauder was salvaged by the Bounty Hunter, who went on to use her 'Mech as his new signature 'Mech. With only one other member of her lance, Colin Maclaren, surviving the ambush, this began a long and bitter personal feud between Kerensky and the Bounty Hunter.[20]
Not long after securing the planet, Anton Marik arrived on Nova Roma and gave an inflammatory speech on June 25th. He also had rounded up many of the planets leaders to stand with him to create a fake show of support for his revolt. This event would help spark resistance in the Marik Loyalists to resist Anton Marik and bring about his downfall. It would also bring destruction to Nova Roma later as Marik Loyalists destroyed many of the planet's farms and mines in retaliation for their perceived support of Anton's Revolt.
The time since has seen the military governor of the planet ruthlessly investigating any rumor of rebellion or unrest, while the population tries to rebuild their farms.[1]

Notes
On page 18 of Wolf's Dragoons (sourcebook), it states that the Dragoons attacked Nova Roma in September 3014. However, later in the book on page 124, it references the Black Widow's encounter with the Bounty Hunter in a mop-up operation in June 3014. The later publication Historical: Brush Wars confirms that Nova Roma was attacked and conquered in June 3014, thus the reference to the attack in September is in error.
