The Landmark Militia protected the world of Landmark within the Taurian Concordat.[1]

History
In 3012, cities and supply convoys in the Landmark were attacked by elements of the pirate band Hawke's Horde. When Hawke's Horde again attacked Landmark in 3013, it was Dog Company of the Landmark Heavy Horse of the planetary militia that was in position to attack the pirate. Despite having surprise, the pirates were able to escape while destroying nine of the militia's vehicles and killing forty-three infantrymen.[1][2]
However, when the Horde's home base was discovered on Laconis in 3014, the Taurian Concordat sent the newly rebuilt Landmark Heavy Horse in addition to a BattleMech force to attack the base and keep the pirates from escaping. Hawke's Horde was destroyed and several prisoners were taken then later executed for their crimes.[1][2]
