Emmy Line was a former Hanseatic League citizen, later Scorpion Empire Warrior and finally, the first ZarKhan.
History
Emmy was a Freeborn, born in the Hanseatic League. In an unknown date, she joined the Scorpion Empire touman. Sometime prior to 3150, in Gateway, she had reached the rank of Star Captain. Then she championed to put in production the Nexus BattleMech, an Word of Blake design. She obtained its blueprints in an old Blakist files, but were damaged. Without telling to anybody, she took them and handed them to a civilian company on the planet, which restored them. But when she offered them to hios superior, Galaxy Commander Barin Myers, he challenged her to a Trial of Refusal, wanting the destroy the files for having given them to civilians. But she killed him in a Circle of Equals and killed him, taking his place. That made her the first freeborn of the former Hansa to led a Galaxy. In this case, Omega Galaxy (ESc¡orpión Imperio).[1]
On 12 February 3151, she was leading a group which engaged a group of pirates raiding Gateway. She faced the last pirate 'Mech standing, a Griffin, with her Rhino. She managed to defeat it ramming it, destroying the 'Mech but without killing the pilot, which was her intention: his men had captured too the pirate DropShip, because they wanted the information the pirates and their ships may have, as they appear to come from the Inner Sphere.[2]
Three days later, Emmy was overseeing his planet's administration and reading the pirate files. The info was important enough to travel to the capital of the Empire, to report it directly. She landed on Braunschweig the 13 March, and was received by Star Colonel Peter Noye. After exchanging nonimportant info, she revealed him some of the stunning news obtained from the pirates: Clan Nova Cat had been annihilated, and Clan Wolf was movilizing all his touman to Terra. And then, when their vehicle was in front of the Clan council Chamber, it blew in a massive explosion and she passed out.[3]
Emmy awakened in an hospital, the 22 May, and in her room were Peter and the Scorpion's Khan Magon Scott. They informed her than the attack was made by a former Hanseatic LeagueMerchant. The Khan explained Emmy why he was there: the internal conflict between Empire's two factions, Preservers and Imperials was raging, and he wanted to create a new post, the zarKhan, which would direct all the Empire civilians, while the Khan focused on the military. And he wanted Emmy to became the first zarKhan. She accepted. Emmy began preparing for the imminent Trial of Refusal expected by the Preservers. She, keepingt some medics nearby to appear more weak than she really was, began facing Trials of Grievance soon. The 29 May she killed a Preserver warrior in a fight hand to hand, though accidentally.[4]
The 30 May, the grand Preserver Trial of Refusal against the reform was launched. Scott expected it, and used to reduce the Preserver's numbers before the election. The same day, after Emmy was choosen, she and Peter faced two Elementals. She managed to made one fell of the Circle of Equals, but the other fatally wounded Peter, before he killed him. After Emmy was choosed as zarKhan, she informed the gathered warriors of the news about Clan Wolf, and how it may be already the IlClan. When she rallied them, he found herself applauded by all Imperials and even most Preservers.[5]
