The Dawn Guards were an assault 'Mech regiment with an aerospace wing, manned by Republic volunteers with ancestral ties to the Federated Suns.[3]

The Dawn Guards participated on Operation PERCEVAL, send by Julian Davion to attack the Dragon's Tongue world of O'Fallon. After fighting there the Wolf's Dragoons Wolfsbane Battalion, in a short but decisive battle, they forced the mercenaries to depart, returning the planet to the Suns.[4]
