History & Description
The Rubigen Prefecture was one of the administrative regions that comprised the Rasalhague Military District of the Draconis Combine.[1]
In 3025, the Rubigen Prefecture appeared at times to desire separation from both Kurita and Rasalhague. This was most probably because Rubigen has a large non-Scandinavian, non-Japanese population. As it is almost impossible to unite the descendants of Black Africans, Arabs, and Eastern Europeans to carry off a rebellion. Rubigen planetary leaders are much more concerned about the number of planets close to the Lyran border. The Prefecture is also involved in a long-running feud with the Buckminster Prefecture of the Benjamin Military District, and the Vega Prefecture of Dieron Military District over troop deployment and the theoretical alliance of Lyran planets not yet captured. This started when Prefect Armandu complained to the Coordinator about them squabbling over Port Moseby and other Lyran worlds in the "contested pocket", and the other two prefects have sworn revenge against Armandu for drawing the Coordinator's notice to them.[1]
After the Rasalhague independence in 3034, the leftover planets of this Prefecture, the Prefecture itself was moved to the Alshain Military District.
After the Clan invasion of 3052, Rubigen Prefecture was effectively defunct, with its remaining planets under Clan control.
