Plot summary
After making a tentative peace with Julian Davion, Danai Liao-Centrella organizes her forces departure from New Syrtis. Once on Sian, she had to defend her decision with her father, Daoshen Liao. He later assigns her a tutor to made her learn to be more Capellan. The tutor, her distant cousin Wilhemina Liao, shows her the responsabilities of her charge and to understand the capellan's people's needs. After the Wall fell, Danai participates on the conquest of Hall, where the Capellan forces face a determined though outnumbered resistance, eventually managing to pacify the world. When a Republic guerrilla killes her cousin, Danai gets enraged, and more determined to crush them than ever. After the guerrilla's resurface, Danai ignores all advices for caution and leds the hunt of the Republic forces, falling into and ambush to which she barely survives. Having learned from her mistakes, Danai separates from her traditional 'Mech, Yen-Lo-Wang, and before departing Hall, mades sure to defend the planet's citizens' rights. Once in Liberty, she faces a counterattack of Stone's Fury which impress and terrifies her for their advanced technology. And once again on Sian, she talks in private with her father, advising him caution against daring to attack Terra, for the Capellan's people's sake.
