Captain Nina Slade was a MechWarrior in the Spider’s Web Battalion of Wolf’s Dragoons.

History[edit]

3139–3140[edit]

During the time that Wolf’s Dragoons were employed by the Draconis Combine to conquer the worlds of the Draconis Reach, Nina Slade served as Colonel Henry Kincaid’s bodyguard and confidante, with a strong reputation for her serious nature.[1] Slade was an exceptional assault 'Mech pilot, able to dispatch multiple opponents with ease and achieve uncharacteristic performance from her 'Mech.[2][3]

She fought beside Kincaid at the Battle of Marlowe's Rift (3139), landing one of the first on planet. She was the one which destroyed the last Davion skimmer on Galway, the base where they landed. Later, she fought the Marlowe Militia with great success.[4]

During the Battle of Glenmora (3140), she fought beside Captain Nathan Castle, downing a Davion's Scourge and a Centurion in seconds.[5]

New Avalon and death[edit]

Nina keep her place of aide and bodyguard of Kincaid until the Battle of New Avalon (3146). There, to break him out of a Davion trap, she had to face down a full company of Davion forces, which killed her, but not after saving Kincaid. To honor her, the name Slade was added to the list of Dragoons Honornames, the first one in over forty years.[6]

BattleMech[edit]

Nina Slade piloted a Hellstar as part of the command star of the Spider’s Web Battalion. After her death, the 'Mech was recovered and handed to Aksel Vordel.[7][8]
