History
Near the conclusion of the Battle of Helm (3138), Captain-General Anson Marik ordered a retreat offworld, strategically leaving two companies of the Silver Hawk Irregulars to delay the invading forces of Operation Hammerfall. The remaining officers, Fred Parsons and Zeke Carleton, had conflicting views on the course of action. Fred advocated for surrender and contacted Duke Vedet Brewer, seeking terms. However, as Zeke and his men continued to fight, Clan Wolf forces charged both companies, killing any Irregular, whether they had surrendered or not. Fred attempted to inform Brewer of the situation, but with Brewer unable to control the Clan Wolf forces, the remaining Irregulars were killed in what later became known as the "Helm massacre."[1]
