Griffith/Griffin had served with Durant Carlyle, when the unit was known as Colby's Commandos.[2]
Kal was responsible for training young Grayson Carlyle in the various workings of the thirty-first-century mercenary life. He had been Grayson's instructor in the martial arts, since he was ten years old.
He was described as having a hairless scalp, with a drooping moustache, and possessing a savage blue scar that twisted down his jaw close to his right ear.[1]
