Striking the Sword

Striking the Sword was a holovid produced in and sponsored by the Oriente Protectorate, available by 7 February 3135, dramatizing Operation Guerrero.[1]

Overview[edit]

Striking the Sword, according to reviewer Eugene Snyder, celebrated the Capellan-Free Worlds attack on the Federated Commonwealth from a Leaguer perspective, portraying the allied states' leaders and soldiers as righteous and heroic, dutiful and beloved while demonizing the Federated Commonwealth and Victor Steiner-Davion. The holovid explicitly paralleled the Commonwealth with the Republic of the Sphere, and in Snyder's eyes, effectively called for the Capellans and the fragments of the former League to unite against the Republic. Snyder considered it well-made, well-written propaganda.[1]

Striking the Sword was widely distributed in the Capellan Confederation and the former territories of the Free Worlds League.[1]
