The Republic Transport and Safety Bureau (RTSB) was the Republic of the Sphere's transportation safety office.[1]
Overview[edit]
The RTSB was formed in part because of a disaster. The JumpShip Jade Pillars suffered a lethal drive failure mid-jump in 3103, helping spur the creation of an office dedicated to transportation safety.[1]
In 3132, the RTSB responded to the disappearance of another JumpShip, the Farstar. On 25 July, RTSB spokesman Erin McDonough announced that the JumpShip's owner, StarCross Starlines, had officially declared the Farstar missing. The RTSB stated that it would continue searching and investigating, but that a lethal jump drive failure was suspected.[1]
