The Niles Planetary Militia was the Militia unit assigned to defend Niles.
History[edit]
In May 3029 the DCMS went on the offensive again; in addition to stepping up the tempo of conflict on a number of contested worlds, the DCMS launched fresh attacks. One of the new targets for invasion was Niles, which was hit by the Fourth An Ting Legion in May.[1]
The battle initially went in favor of the Davion defenders thanks to the air support of the militia, but the battle moved closer to the planet as losses mounted on both sides. Finally the Kurita DropShips broke through the defending squadrons and landed on Niles, successfully deploying the And Ting forces.[2]
The militia fought hard, with one militia regiment managing to hold back an entire battalion from the Fourth for a week, but the Legion claimed the planet for the Draconis Combine.[1]
The last AFFS forces had surrendered by the 3rd of June 3, 3029.[2]
