Overview[edit]
The Lynx Pouncer Star was a naval unit of Clan Smoke Jaguar.
History[edit]
Post-Tukayyid[edit]
The Star was assigned to patrolling the Exodus Road from the fleet base at Suda Bay. The Clan had been transporting large quantities of matériel from the Homeworlds to their Occupation Zone in an effort to rebuild their military capabilities after the Battle of Tukayyid. These transports had come under attack notably from Clan Nova Cat but also from Draconis Combine forces within 200 light years of their borders. It was the mission of the Lynx Pouncer Star to protect these transports and hunt down the raiders.[1]
Operation Bulldog[edit]
Ships of the Star are known to have engaged Inner Sphere forces, however, the number of engagements, the locations and the forces involved are not known. The Queen Lynx and the two Fredasa class vessels are known to have been captured, with both corvettes subsequently scuttled.[2]
Officers[edit]
Rank | Name | Command | |
---|---|---|---|
Commanding Officers of the Lynx Pouncer Naval Star | |||
Star Commodore | Matius Chrisholm | 3059[1] |
Tactics[edit]
The Star was built around the York class carrier and clearly relied upon its fighter complement for offensive punch.
Composition History[edit]
3052-3059[edit]
- CSJ Queen Lynx a York-class destroyer/carrier
- Congress-class frigate
- Fredasa-class corvette/raider
- Fredasa-class corvette/raider
- The fighters carried by the Star would equal an Aerospace Cluster, 100 OmniFighters.
Notes[edit]
- It is unknown if Assault or Carrier DropShips were attached to the Star, although hypothetically six could be carried.
- A Whirlwind-class destroyer is recorded as also patrolling the Exodus Road in 3055.[3] As a Naval Star would generally consist of five vessels it is possible that this destroyer was as part of the Lynx Pouncer Star.
