Prior to the formal establishment of the Republic of the Sphere, Aarebrot was a senior law officer of Devlin Stone's Terran Protectorate, during the war crime trials of Word of Blake personnel for their actions during the Word of Blake Jihad. During the trial of Precentor Jarvis McKesson, Aarebrot was responsible for doctoring a statement made by McKesson for submission to the tribunal, to falsely make it appear as if he were confessing to war crimes during the defense of Singapore as part of the Battle of Terra at the end of the Jihad.[1]
