Canonicity[edit]
This weapon was featured in an official BattleTech product, namely the BattleTech computer game by HBS.
By virtue of being an official albeit not positively canonical product, the game expansion and the weapons and equipment presented therein including this one must be considered apocryphal.
Description[edit]
The COIL, short for Contained Overflow Inertia Linkage is a weapon that generates power from the kinetic energy of a BattleMechs movement.
The system can explode if damaged due to the energy stored in its batteries.[1]
