Overview[edit]
Nearly concurrent with the joint Canopian-Andurien raid on Glevakha by elements of the Fourth Andurien Cavalry, two companies of fast ’Mech of the Fourth staged a reconnaissance raid on Ruschegg. Among them were two full lances of Anubises[1][2][3]
After finding a complete lack of BattleMech defenders, the Anduriens couldn't pass up the temptation to brush aside the conventional militia and walk off with some strategic stockpiles. The two lances of Anubises boiled into Boniard City, rushing past the defenders and laying Thunder minefields along the avenues of retreat the militia was likely to use. On their heels came the other six lances of Andurien ’Mechs. As they advanced into the city they were engaged at point blank range by heavy tanks concealed in tankhides that had been missed by the Anubises improved sensors. The minefields meant to contain the defenders now also prevented the non-jumping Anubises from providing direct aid to their colleagues. Using their speed they managed to flank around the city, and strike at the tanks from range with their Light PPCs. The main body was eventually able to extricate themselves from Boniard City and retreat back to their DropShips, though during the rout a company of militia hovertanks harried the column, causing even more casualties and requiring some personnel to be left behind. The Anduriens lost over a company of ’Mechs in this raid, with the majority of survivors being the Anubises. [1][2][3]
