Subcommander Barnston was a member of the Rollis Home Guard in the early thirty-first century.[1]

Barnston was an officer within the Rollis Home Guard, but was not respected by the soldiers under his command. One day, a new Subcommander, Rodney Piet, would openly claim that Barnston was a coward in front of his troops and none of them came to his defense. The next day, Barnston was gone from the unit and Piet had taken over Barnston's command.[1]
