Major General Anne Borden was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's XXXVII Corps from at least 2762 to 2764.[1][2]

Borden was Fourth Army's operations officer until the Confederation-Suns Border War of 2760 to 2762,[2] when she was promoted to lead XXXVII Corps by General Tatjana Baptiste as a replacement for Major General Simone Ffolkes-Smyth due to her refusal to follow orders. Despite Ffolkes-Smyth's dismissal, Borden retained Ffolkes-Smyth's staff, with her blessing.[1]
Borden was chosen for this role as she was the only qualified officer available, but her relationship with General Baptiste was poor. Borden was an aggressive and competent commander with a hard-charging personality which conflicted with the more defensive posture Baptiste choose to adopt for her army, leading to clashes between the two over military philosophy, strategic aims, divisional readiness, supply delays, and the location of XXXVII Corps' headquarters. These disagreements caused Baptiste to want to replace Borden, but due to a lack of reliable replacement officers, as of 2764 Baptiste did not consider it feasible to actually do so.[1]
Following the end of the Confederation–Suns Border War, during which the SLDF had withdrawn to avoid getting involved in the conflict, Borden returned her troops to the border in order to reassert authority. Once back in place, Borden ensured they worked hard to repair relations with local populations and to reduce bandit raids, both tasks at which she was broadly successful.[3]
