All World Comm (AWC) was a communications equipment manufacturer based on Mirach.

Overview[edit]

As of 3133, All World Comm was a major producer of communications equipment, supplying much of the equipment for the planet's limited communications system.[1] The company also produced military-suitable BattleMech training simulators.[2] Its CEO Marta Kinsolving was one of the most powerful business leaders on Mirach and president of the Mirach Business Association.[3]

In the immediate aftermath of the Blackout, AWC suffered substantially. Mirach underwent an economic crisis and AWC was one of the planet's less fortunate companies. It laid off a quarter of its employees by April 3133, and faced large and unruly protests as a result - protests aggravated by disinformation from Minister of Information Elora Rimonova, who insinuated that AWC was to blame for the HPG collapse. In one incident on 5 April, security chief Inger Ryumin deployed an IndustrialMech to suppress a riot.[3]

Through early 3133, AWC weathered the storm. In April, Kinsolving secured funding from Governor Sergio Ortega for an overhaul of Mirach's communications system. Replacing Mirach's pre-Blackout HPG-dependent planetary communications apparatus, Span-net would be based around a series of lunar relay stations to carry messages across Mirach, free from proton storm interference.[4] In the meantime, the Mirach Business Association built up its own force of modified, militarized IndustrialMechs. When Elora and Legate Calvilena Tortorelli launched a military coup on 3 May, AWC, as part of the Business Association, provided communications assistance and armed IndustrialMechs to support Governor Ortega. With AWC's help, Ortega fended off the coup, securing Elora's defeat on 12 May.[5]

In 3135, Bannson Universal Unlimited, seeking the technology underlying Span-net, acquired AWC. Republic of the Sphere representatives assisted in the acquisition, carried out against the Mirach Business Association's wishes.[6]
