System History

The Westerhand system was settled during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was a part of the Sian Commonwealth prior to the formation of the Capellan Commonwealth in the mid-twenty-fourth century.[5]

Dark Age

During the years after the Jihad the Capellan government reopened the mercenary hiring hall on Westerhand (which had closed during the war). The hiring hall attracted numerous soldiers seeking to remain independent of national militaries. Partly to safeguard against potential rogue warriors and partly to vet applicants, the CCAF maintained a rotating garrison on the world.[39]
