Description
The Vision Quest was created by Clan Nova Cat to honor the memory of Khan Sandra Rosse and the future she foresaw for both the Nova Cats and Kerensky's Clans as a whole.
It was a rather mundane 'Mech, though. More attention was paid to its symbolic worth than its value on the battlefield. Still, the Vision Quest was a solid workhorse which could easily anchor a defensive line or backstop an aggressive charge.[1]
The last known Vision Quest was destroyed at the end of Clan Nova Cat's rebellion against the Draconis Combine during the Draconis Combine Civil War. It was also the same one once piloted by the Founding Khan of the Nova Cats, Phillip Drummond, and destroyed while being Piloted by the last Khan, Jacali Nostra.
Long preserved as a relic, it was brought along during the Nova Cats' move to the Inner Sphere. During the last days of the Nova Cats it was refurbished, restored to fighting fitness by the remaining Nova Cat techs after sitting idle after over 300 years. It was destroyed on Irece along with the Nova Cats' genetic repository and their last Khan in a nuclear strike on the facility as the Draconis Combine systematically annihilated the rebellious Clan as punishment for rebelling and siding with the losing faction of the Civil War.
Weapons and Equipment
The Vision Quest was built around an improved Gauss rifle, two newly developed Clan ER Large Lasers and three Medium Pulse Lasers.[1]
Design Quirks
The Vision Quest has the following Design Quirk:[2]
Variants
- Vision Quest
- Only four years after its introduction, the Vision Quest was retooled to Clan tech standards, boosting its armor and swapping out the improved Gauss rifle for a Class-20 Ultra autocannon.[1] BV (2.0) = 2,458[3]
- Vision Quest 2
- A joint effort with Clan Snow Raven, this version brought the Gauss rifle to Clan specifications and traded the pulse lasers for ER small lasers, as well as increasing the Heat Sink count to thirteen and adding a Targeting Computer.[1] BV (2.0) = 2,556[4]
