Description
Introduced in the early 24th Century, the Vendetta Medium Fighter was designed as a dual air superiority/ground attack fighter for the Terran Hegemony. With advent of new technological breakthrough, the Vendetta was chosen over other mediocre designs to field HAF newest laser based weapon, the Large Laser.
The Vendetta was at the time of its commissoning into the HAF's air forces, the Hegemony's most powerful aircraft in service. Using its arsenal of exclusively energy weapons and its large bomb payload, most contemporary designs were unable handle the Vendetta. It served HAF for a hundred years as its Frontline fighter, only finally being surpassed by the arrival of the more advanced AeroSpace Fighter. The aircraft would continue on along with it duplicate clones in service in secondary roles in various planetary militia.[1]
Armaments & Capacities
Designed to take advantage of its fusion reactor, the Vendetta’s weapons are solely energy based. Its main weapon is a Large Laser mounted on the mounted on the nose with addition of a Small Laser. Complimenting the Heavy Laser, are two Medium Class Lasers mounted each of its wings. For attacks during ground-attack missions, the aircraft been fitted with six External Stores Hardpoints on its main body. To ensure better accuracy, these weapons are guided by Advanced Fire Control System.
Not the fastest of aircraft, to supplement lack of fitness in flight the aircraft's hull was given 3.5 tons worth of BAR-10 grade armor.[2]
Design Notes
The Vendetta intended as a Primitive Conventional Fighter, Support Air Vehicle construction rules were utilized create this vehicle.
It has Equipment Rating of D/D-X-X/E.[3]

The Vendetta Medium Fighter's image originally was used for the Torrent Heavy Bomber.
