I know it seems a random question but it just popped into my head whilst doing the tech for Shell Games where a character is given a Wakazashi 0-12 ShotStun but it is only refered to as a O-12 Shotgun so I have set up the link as O-12 Shotgun, It is my thought that this makes it slightly easier for readers to find the right link.--Dmon (talk) 15:40, 22 July 2020 (EDT) | I know it seems a random question but it just popped into my head whilst doing the tech for Shell Games where a character is given a Wakazashi 0-12 ShotStun but it is only refered to as a O-12 Shotgun so I have set up the link as O-12 Shotgun, It is my thought that this makes it slightly easier for readers to find the right link.--Dmon (talk) 15:40, 22 July 2020 (EDT) | ||

Technology sections for novels.
Hey Geekyguide,
Very good work on filling out the technology sections for a good number of novels! As an Admin I generally keep an eye on everybodys edits but I do not check them indepth if things look to be in order. Do not worry your work all looks to be in order but I do want to ask about what naming conventions you have been using. (Without me checking) are you putting in official names or what ever it is called in the novel?
I know it seems a random question but it just popped into my head whilst doing the tech for Shell Games where a character is given a Wakazashi 0-12 ShotStun but it is only refered to as a O-12 Shotgun so I have set up the link as O-12 Shotgun, It is my thought that this makes it slightly easier for readers to find the right link.--Dmon (talk) 15:40, 22 July 2020 (EDT)
Hi DMon!

I gotta admit, I've been too scared to touch technology specifically in terms of weapons. I've found it easier to stick to updates related to Mechs, vehicles, DropShips, etc since the naming doesn't get too controversial. But I have wondered about diving into other things like participating units and such.
But when it comes to the fiction books, I try to match the naming convention in the book itself. Thus an Inner Sphere focused book will have to use Inner Sphere names for Clan mechs and I also try to adapt how they refer to different vehicles in the book (e.g. Goblin Support Vehicles instead of just Goblin.
