== Canonicity ==

Over on another forum, somebody quoted the Canonicity section from this page and stated that the even though it is intended to be canon, it is automatically non-canon because it is a videogame. Even though what they quoted is more or less saying the exact opposite, that this game IS canon.

I think just to be safe, we should mark this entire page and all of its Subpages as Non-Canon. We should also remove the Apocryphal tag from the wiki and put all of that stuff down as Non-Canon as well.

:Apocryphal essentially means "Canon if nothing already declared as canon contradicts it" so depending on the exact context they where using it. A good example is the planetary write-ups. Most of the planets in the game have no real details on their biome, so until CGL writes up something the game description is actually canon. :::Best advice I can give for dealing with people like the people you mentioned is remember that it is a fictional universe designed for people to have fun in. As a player or fiction writer, as long as you enjoy yourself that means all is well. If you want to write fan fiction then just do it and list it as AU-BattleTech fan fiction. == Apocryphal information sources on Canon articles ==
Despite this not being declared a Canon source, the statistics for some of the weapons on Sarna show signs of having been nerfed, (for instance, the Small Pulse Laser now does the exact same damage as a regular Small Lase), and this game is being cited as a source on those pages.

:Are you sure the stats for weapons have been nerfed? == Planets ==
HBS have announced that they are adding roughly 50 new systems to the game in Update 1.6 by moving the top edge of the in game map "north" pushing deeper into the Inner Sphere. :At some arbitrary point, I reckon the list of worlds is so big that it isn't meaningful anymore. My personal main concern is wether HBS will add new worlds, new information for existing worlds, and/or include more anachronisms and "problematic" data. ::I have finally had the time to sit down and cross-reference the map in the UW pre-view video, the current in game map and believe that the map will be increasing both "north" and to the "west". On the Fed Suns end it has moved up from [[Lindsay]] to the [[Pleiades Cluster]] and looks to be all canon planets. FWL end I am struggling to pin down specifics but it might extend as far West" as [[Vakarel]] and "north" as [[Andurien]].
