Interesting to say the least. BattleMech technology does progress after all. A few things though. Does the Ares, being specifically made for DA, even have compatible CBT stats? A 375 XL engine that gives a maximum speed of only 10 km/h is unheard of. That is a running speed of 1 in the game. That makes it a deathtrap, even the old Atlas can get up to 50 km/h. Following the rules it means the 'Mech is more than 375 tons in mass. Or maybe tripods have a speed modifier of some sort. Is there any more data on the Ares? Manufacturer, BV, and the like?

I know WizKids have been designing 'Mechs that don't follow CBT construction rules, but this is a bit of a jump. Haruspex 06:22, 13 January 2008 (CST)

:No, there are no comparable stats. I would assume it uses some form of experimental technology, as it is actually 135 tons. Don't even bother trying to think about it. It would be nice if one of the new, forthcoming books like Tactical Operations has stats for these things, but I wouldn't count on it. --Scaletail 07:44, 13 January 2008 (CST)

::I'd say this 'Mech use level 3 (or even level 4) rules. It's only a prototype 'Mech (only 4 'Mechs have been seen) and is still a project (Rhodes Project). From my experience, I recognize it's a really slow behemoth, but you must know, in MW:AoD, one turn is equal to 6 CBT turns. It's standard speed, in AoD, is 4 (8 by running, with a special pilot) and a larger heat dial (a 'Mech usually show 6 clicks, with always one showing an automatic shutdown. The Ares has 8 clicks). It also use some level 3 weapons (MRMs if I'm not wrong) and TSEMP. This 'Mechs has unfortunately not any BV nor specific adaptation rules, but the box delivers a good amount of information on it as its weight, that is 135 tons, not 375. I would also admit the idea the last leg allow it a speed modifier. I wrote this article and I put every data I had on it, that is to say everything that has been told on it by Wizkids. --FIVE-one 13:02, 15 January 2008 (CST)
