In reality, Sun-Tzu was not totally dead, not even in [[3134]], at least. During the "Night of Screams", he returned to Liao to die, his last act to strengthen the Confederation. But in reality, he placed himself in a cryogenic coffin to potentially extend his lifespan beyond what was natural. Thus, the Cult of Liao was born. His cryochamber was kept operative and protected in a secret underground bunker by an elite band of the ''[[Ijori Dè Guāng]]'', the pro-Capellan resistance.<ref name=ACtA020>''By Temptations and By War'', p. 209</ref>

Nobody could revive Sun-Tzu, and it was unknown if his brain had suffered damage during the freezing process. Mai Uhn Wa, the founding leader of new Warrior House Ijori, discovered this secret and informed Capellan officers. They seized the bunker and started the process of transferring the coffin to Sian...but before they could complete the move, the Cult intervened and recovered Sun Tzu's body. It is implied that Evan Kurst, leader of the Cult and second in command of Warrior House Ijori, planned to put the coffin under the newly constructed headquarters of his base.<ref name=ACtA021>''By Temptations and By War'', p. 289</ref>.
