Roberta Gathos was the commanding officer of the Seventh Almach Foot Soldiers infantry regiment during the Fourth Succession War.[1]

Colonel Gathos and the Seventh Almach Foot Soldiers were assigned to the 3028 invasion of the Capellan world New Canton alongside the First Screaming Eagles mercenary unit. Fighting against the First Battalion of the Fourth Confederation Reserve Cavalry, the Eagles' commander Colonel Opson Mathis became infuriated by the Capellans' hit-and-fade tactics. When the Fourth CRC battalion finally surrendered, Gathos was appalled to learn that Mathis had had the enemy soldiers sealed inside their BattleMechs and pushed into the Canton River to drown. Gathos immediately ordered Mathis to surrender himself to her custody and the judgement of his superior officers and, for a brief few moments, the Eagles and Foot Soldiers faced each other with weapons bared. When MechWarrior Benson Yuli abandoned the Eagles' lines and placed himself next to Gathos' Foot Soldiers, the tension collapsed and the rest of Mathis' men quickly abandoned him. Gathos took custody of Mathis and prepared to hand him over for further judgement once New Canton was secured.[1]
