Riss was a old solahma warrior of the Clan Jade Falcons and a fanatical follower of Malvina Hazen.

History

Riss was a Trueborn of Clan Jade Falcon, which served a long time into their touman, becoming a fanatical follower of hazen's Mongol Doctrine. Of advanced age, though reaching the rank of Star Colonel, never obtained a Bloodname, and in 3150, when Malvina Hazen took almost all her touman to Terra, he stay behind, at the command of Arc-Royal.

Sometime in 3151, he received news of Hazen's defeat and his Clan's annihilation in the IlClan Trial, but apparently hid it to his men, pretending than she was alive. It appears than he developed great ambitions to win the favor of the new IlKhan, Alaric Ward, but these were cut down by Callandre Kell and her Kell Hounds, which arrived at system and, despite being in reduced numbers, began taking the falcon's positions, one after other.[1]

The Battle of Arc-Royal (3151) was quickly turning against the Falcons, so Riss ordered all surviving garrison forces to gather at the capital, Old Connaught. But not only that: expecting to force Kell to leave the planet, he ordered the mass execution of 1,000 civilians from the city. But that only enraged the Hounds, which the next day were attacking Old Connaught with all what they had.[2]

Callandre used a crashing DropShip to cripple the core of the Falcon's lines, and later led the charge against the survivors. But she not only faced his warriors in the battlefield: also tell Riss' men than Malvina Hazen was dead, Clan Wolf was the IlClan, and than the Flacons have been annihilated on Terra. A furious Riss engaged her in his Hunchback IIC, insulting her, attempting to minimize the damage she caused with her words, but to no avail: the bulk of his men ceased fighting. Despite being superior in weaponry and armor, the tank avoided Riss' fire, and downed his 'Mech. Riss was wounded, and his 'Mech crippled, but he refused to surrender: he was attempting to descend from his 'Mech when Callandre ordered an artillery attack over Riss' position. Two missiles blowed his 'Mech and incinerated him.

Riss' death put an end to the battle, and the rest of the Falcons conceded defeat, abandoning Arc-Royal, leaving it into Callandre's hands.[3]

Riss' last 'Mech, and maybe also the original, was a Hunchback IIC.[4]
