Field Refit Kits are Star League-era military hardware.
They came about in 3051, during a lull in the Clan Invasion, Jaime Wolf, of the Wolf's Dragoons called a conference on Outreach. All the heads of the various Inner Sphere houses and several mercenary leaders were invited.
At the end of the conference Thomas Marik struck a deal to supply the Federated Commonwealth, Draconis Combine, and Free Rasalhague Republic with Star League-era military hardware. In return, Thomas' son Joshua began undergoing treatment for his leukemia at the [New Avalon Institute of Science]]. The League's military industrial complex expanded rapidly, and the war-ravaged nations bought whatever they could, even after the 3052 Truce of Tukayyid.
