Rachel Specter (sometimes spelt as Rachel Spector) was an officer with the Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth and the Lyran Alliance Armed Forces, most notably serving in Adam Steiner's 1st Somerset Strikers.
History
Early career
In 3049 Specter was assigned to acompany Major Adam Steiner at the famed Nagelring.[3]
Remaining Adam's aide for many years, rumors persisted during the Word of Blake Jihad that the pair had had a liaison during an on-again, off-again relationship. When the bachelor Adam became Archon of the Lyran Alliance during the Jihad and pressure mounted upon him to secure the line of succession, numerous people expressed dismay that he would marry Specter, a "mere" commoner. Despite the rumors and perhaps due to the demands of decorum that he find a noble bride, Adam ultimately married Heather Fyhne, Duchess of Arcturus, despite his close relationship with Specter.[4] [5] [1]
With many observers considering the marriage more a political move than being made out of feelings between Adam and Heather, rumors continued to persist about Adam's relationship with Rachel Specter, by this stage Specter having retired from active duty and was a respected professor at the Nagelring. Despite the rumors, neither Adam or Rachel had any official contact with the other since Adam's wedding, ensuring no impropriety could be inferred.[1]
