== Summary ==
[[SLDF]] forces under the command of [[Victor Steiner-Davion]] relieve the decimated ranks of Task Force Serpent on [[Huntress]], then travel to [[Strana Mechty]] to challenge the Grand Council of the Clans to put an end to the invasion once and for all.  

The SLDF and representatives of the Crusader Clans fight in what comes to be known as the [[Great Refusal]].  [[Clan Nova Cat]], sides with the SLDF.  The Great Refusal marks the final destruction of [[Clan Smoke Jaguar]].  The Star League forces are victorious, returning to the Inner Sphere and leaving elements of the [[Eridani Light Horse]] on Huntress as an embassy.  

Victor returns to find that [[Katherine Steiner-Davion]] has effectively usurped the throne of the [[Federated Commonwealth]].  The second Whitting Conference is held, and [[Theodore Kurita]] is elected First Lord of the Star League.
