Description[edit]
The Phoenix Hawk L is a light BattleMech, produced originally for the Draconis Combine at the dawn of the thirty-second century. It was modeled to resemble Crosby's old and remodeled Phoenix Hawk, which they had first produced in the 3060s, and was their BattleMechs Research Firm's bid to offer a replacement to the venerable Panther after the Second Combine-Dominion War. Alternately known as the Fenikkusu Taka, the Phoenix Hawk L retains the movement profile of its heavier predecessor.
The Phoenix Hawk L's qualities would be popular with recon and fast combined-arms units.[2]
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The 'Mech's most prominent weapon is the Matabushi Stunner TSEMP Cannon, which enable it to potentially disable an opponent. The cannon is backed up by a Shigunga 3-Tube MML-3 and a single Victory 23E ER medium laser, and to fulfill its infantry support role, the 'Mech carries three Sperry Browning heavy machine guns.
The Phoenix Hawk L is powered by a GM 210-rated extralight fusion engine and mounts six Rawlings 45 jump jets which allow it to match the mobility of its progenitor. The 'Mech's hull is protected by six and a half tons of standard armor and standard CASE is protects ammunition stored in the left torso. Like the Phoenix Hawk L's Civil War-era predecessor, the 'Mech uses a Full-Head Ejection System for the safety of the pilot.[2]
Variants[edit]
- PXH-11K2
- A heavily armed version of the PXH-11K, this variant was produced during the Combine's invasion of the Federated Suns in the 3140s. The 'Mech has its right arm-mounted TSEMP Cannon swapped out for a snub-nose PPC with a PPC capacitor. While it does retain the MML-3, the 'Mech's heavy machine guns are dropped in favor of adding a second ER medium laser in the right arm.[2] BV (2.0)= 1,233[4]
Design Quirks[edit]
The Phoenix Hawk L has the following Design Quirks:
Related BattleMechs[edit]
- Phoenix Hawk - First introduced by the Terran Hegemony in 2568 the 45-ton Phoenix Hawk is one of the most well known BattleMechs in the Inner Sphere.
- Phoenix Hawk IIC - Clan-produced 80-ton upgrade of the venerable Phoenix Hawk.
- Phoenix Hawk LAM - Land-Air 'Mech version of the original Phoenix Hawk, which can transform from 'Mech to aerospace fighter.
- Bakeneko - Based off of the Phoenix Hawk 3K chassis, this 55-ton Clan-tech design is produced by Clan Nova Cat and the Draconis Combine.[5]
Notable Pilots[edit]
Notes[edit]
- The Phoenix Hawk L was originally created by WizKids for their MechWarrior Dark Age Collectable Miniatures game, and was known as the "Phoenix Hawk I".
