Neural-Dimensional Computers are a technology breakthrough developed during the first Star League
Description & History
While photon coursing had long ago replaced electronic wiring in computers, a major breakthrough occurred when serval research groups discovered that light beams could be phased and modulated to represent than simple on-and-off messages. The discovery resulted in the development of the Light Tree as the basic building block of computers and allowed computer designers to finally build a computer patterned after the Human brain. Though the resulting computer, called SIBYL, was in some ways a disappointment (not being able to "think" like Humans, as its designers had hoped), its ability to calculated and make rational decisions was a quantum leap beyond the capabilities of computers. Neural-Dimensional Computers were a development that the Hegemony kept to itself while funneling them into its military.

- A logical assumption is that 'Photon Coursing' is a retro Sci-Fi term for Optical Computing
- Although described as having "a sophisticated array of neural networks and simulation engines", it is unknown how, if at all, what relevance Neural-Dimensional Computers have concerning the Advanced Tactical Analysis Computer, a component of the Star League's Space Defense System.
