Halloran V

Halloran V has seen its local militia plagued by fierce infighting, as battalion and regimental commands take sides over the FedCom Civil War. The fighting has taken a terrible toll on local resources. Militia forces are imposing martial law and seizing supplies from local industrial complexes. The Halloran Mining & Excavation (HM&E) cartel has had enough of this semi-official banditry.

Checkpoint

BRIEFING

Militia units have established several highway checkpoints on routes throughout the Caspian Mountains. As standard practice, they impose outrageous tariffs and make outright seizures. Transpax, Inc. wants the units forcibly removed, and is offering contracts to make that happen.

Castle: This is a standard search and destroy mission. Militia forces are congregated around the roadblock stations and a pair of bivouacs. Anticipate ground armor and light ‘Mech defenders.

DURING MISSION

Spectre: Spectre Lance, give a ready report and go weapons hot.

Beowulf: Beowulf. Ready op.

Scrapper: This is Scrapper. Ready op.

Hannibal: This is Hannibal. Ready op.

Spectre: Castle, Spectre Lance is Ready op.

Castle: Roger, Commander. You’re a little over a kilometer out from the first checkpoint. Their ground radar will pick you up before you spot them. Make your best speed to Alpha.

Spectre: Acknowledged. Moving on Alpha, full throttle.

Scrapper: Contact! 900 Meters.

Spectre: Somebody was snoozing at their radar. Take out the command tent and barracks first.

Beowulf: Roger

Spectre: Try not to get in a crossfire with those turrets and tanks, people. Here we go! Enemy ‘Mech at Alpha.

Halloran Protectorate: You have violated a Halloran Protectorate outpost. You are ordered to power down and surrender your ‘Mechs.

Spectre: Spunky little fella, don’t you think?

Beowulf: Roger <chuckles>

Spectre: Looks like that Hellspawn came up minus a pilot. Leave it for salvage.

Scrapper: Kick ass!

Spectre: Checkpoint at Alpha has been eliminated. Moving to Beta.

Castle: Spectre One, I show a squadron of choppers redirecting to your position. Maintain air watch alert.

Beowulf: Enemy helicopters inbound!

Spectre: Choppers are history. Good work, Spectre Lance.

Spectre: Beta outpost eliminated.

Spectre: Great job, team! Castle, let’s get Salvage in here. Looks like a pretty good haul.

Castle: Affirmative, sir. TacOps will be on site in thirty minutes. We’ll have the mobile field base online within the hour. Castle out.

AFTERMATH

Castle: Transpax has confirmed the checkpoints are clear, and has already begun running convoys with light armor escorts along the mountain highways. At this point, it looks like militia forces are spread too thin to reconstitute the stations.
