Marcus Hirimatsu was the commanding officer of the 937th Tank and 3592nd Infantry Regiments during the Ronin War.[1]

History[edit]

Tai-i Hirimatsu became commander of Bruben's Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery garrison when his superior officer Chu-sa Miato Kekkonen and three of his colleagues were killed in a traffic accident in late April 3034. Hirimatsu, unlike Kekkonen, had no sympathy for Bruben's desire to join the new Free Rasalhague Republic and on 2 May launched a surprise attack intended to crush the planet's new government. The assault on Bruben's HPG station was completely thwarted due to the close relationship between Demi-Precentor Corvin Mantyrius and Valdherre Erik Davidson leading to an increased security presence around the facility. The attempt on Davidson's life also failed but the ensuing three-hour battle between Hirimatsu's forces and the mercenaries of Cameron's Legion left almost five hundred civilians dead in Bruben's capital city. At the close of the day's fighting, Hirimatsu's men retreated to their headquarters and the planet's defenders fell back in order to protect Davidson and his governing cabinet.[1]

Hirimatsu's remaining forces, along with the stripped-down Union-class Taiidan, took refuge in their headquarters at Fort Tanaka in anticipation of Bruben's retaliation. Establishing refugee camps for displaced civilians around the fortress, Hirimatsu hoped to slow down Cameron's Legion and their militia allies long enough to annihilate their attackers with long-rage assaults. While the damage dealt to Bruben's forces was indeed severe, Fort Tanaka still fell after Colonel Thomas Cameron personally broke down its door with his Warhammer BattleMech. In the wake of the battle, Tai-i Hirimatsu and the members of his command lance were nowhere to be found and with Colonel Cameron dead the remainders of his Legion were absorbed into the planetary militia.[2]
