Planetary History
Star League Era
The world of Manteno was experiencing a period of sometimes violent geologic activity which had disrupted lives and industries on the planet.[1]
This tectonic activity was unusual however. In fact, Terran Hegemony scientists found Manteno a stable world with easily reached minerals, metals, and gemstones. The world was quickly settled and became a cornerstone of the Federated Suns' economy.[1]
First Succession War
Manteno was invaded during the second half of the major invasion into the Federated Suns launched by the Draconis Combine in May 2791.[11] During the First Succession War a raid by the Draconis Combine damaged or destroyed most of the factories on the world. It took two centuries to rebuild them, and then the earthquakes began.[1]
Manteno was liberated by the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns in 2802 during the first major AFFS counteroffensive of the First Succession War against the Draconis Combine.[12]
Third Succession War
Several eruptions began in 3017 and eight years later 20% of the population had emigrated and 10% of the businesses on the world had relocated elsewhere.[1][38] After this, NAIS opened a facility near an active volcano and began research in new ways to detect earthquakes and volcanic eruptions before they took place.[38]
In March 3021, Arian's Demons, a company from the First battalion of Stapleton's Grenadiers raided the planet to seize the NAIS facility and the research data within. They wiped out the defending forces, Dasarick's Knights - the local Duke's private 'Mech company, and razed the NAIS complex, though they only were able to steal a small amount of marginal data.[38]
In 3025, the ComStar facility was closed for repairs due to damage sustained during several earthquakes.[1]

Geography
