Unit Description
LXIV Corps (or the Sixty-Fourth Corps) was one of the seventy-two Corps that made up the Star League Defense Force. Prior to the collapse of the Star League LXIV Corps was a fairly large corps consisting of 7 divisions and 10 independent regiments.[1]
History
In 2764 LXIV Corps was part of the 18th Army assigned to the Outworlds Alliance Territorial State. When the simmering violence and rebellion building in the Periphery erupted with the New Vandenberg Uprising and subsequent Periphery-wide uprising in 2765 LXIV Corps were swept up in the violence along with the rest of the 18th Army.[1]
The Corps took heavy damage during the Periphery Uprising with two divisions and an independent regiment destroyed outright; 2766 saw the combat strength of LXIV Corps eroded further with the disbandment of The Battle of Thorin Division and the 201st Battle Regiment due to the heavy losses. In addition to those units lost as a result of combat actions two more independent regiments, the 167th Light Horse and the 238th Striker, disappear from records at some point between 2765 and 2766.[1]
The Hegemony Campaign claimed another four independent regiments and two divisions to combat losses or disbandment, with elements of the disbanded 209th Mechanized Infantry Division going on to join the Free Worlds League. Both of the surviving divisions within LXIV Corps followed General Aleksandr Kerensky when he led the bulk of the SLDF on the Exodus along with the 512th Striker Regiment. The only unit to remain in the Inner Sphere was the 288th Hussar Regiment who chose to join the Free Worlds League.[1]
