Kisha Bavara was the commanding officer of the Second Battalion of the First Free Worlds Guards during the Fourth Succession War.[1]

History[edit]

Force Commander Bavara and the Second Battalion of the First Free Worlds Guards were secretly dispatched to the contested world of Menkalinan in November 3028 in order to take the planet from the Capellan Confederation. Just as Bavara's troops began their approach towards the planetary capital of Carosasha, the First Screaming Eagles mercenary regiment made planetfall in order to capture the world for the Federated Suns. Neither Bavara nor the Eagles knew what to do about the presence of non-Capellan forces and, while waiting for orders from off-world, Bavara's soldiers allowed the Eagles to pass through their lines and make their own attack against Carosasha. Bavara finally received orders to assist the Menkalinan Militia just as they were being routed by the mercenaries and an incredulous Bavara ordered her battalion to assault the Eagles' rear lines.[1]

This assault succeeded in destroying the mercenaries' supply and communications facilities and inspired the Capellan militiamen to make their own counterattack, ultimately forcing the FedSuns unit to abandon Carosasha and retreat in order to avoid being surrounded. Unfortunately for Bavara, the Eagles' numerical superiority combined with the lack of unity between Bavara's League soldiers and the Capellan Militia allowed her opponents to make a successful counterattack the very next day. Two battalions of Eagle troops assaulted Bavara's lines and the mercenaries' air support, while battered by the accuracy of her men's BattleMechs, caused enough of a distraction for the Eagles to destroy the First Guards' own supplies and communications. Without informing the Menaklinan Militia, Bavara removed her soldiers from the fighting and ultimately ceded Menkalinan to the Federated Suns' control.[1]
