====Military Career====
Hjalmer was the only child of [[Anders Miraborg]], and was enrolled in the ''sibko'' training program when his father became Prince in [[3109]]. He excelled in his training to become a warrior, and was able to test out of his [[Trial of Position]] as a Star Captain, entering the ranks of the mixed Taiga Galaxy in which his father had also served.<ref name=ER:3145></ref>

When the [[Motstånd]] rose up in [[3125]], his Cluster took part of one of the few battles between forces which defeated the Second Snapphanar on [[Predlitz]].<ref name=ER:3145></ref>

====Prince of the Dominion====
After the uprising was put down, Hjalmer resigned from the military and picked up politics like his father. He was able to successfully paint the current Prince, [[Jens Negaard]], as being too lenient with the insurgents.  With public opinion waning, the Dominion Council voted to remove Negaard and the people voted for Hjalmer to take office.<ref name=ER:3145></ref>

As Prince, he was able to gain admiration from both the Rasalhagian and [[Clan Ghost Bear|Ghost Bear]] populations due to his straightforward solutions to complicated issues.<ref name=ER:3145></ref>

After the beginning of the [[Dominion Civil War]], Hjalmer did not initially support the [[Joiners]] nor [[Deniers]], attempting, to keep the [[Unity Council]] united along with Khan [[Dalia Bekker]], though without much success.<ref>''Dominions Divided'', p. 50</ref>
On December 23rd, [[3151]], Hjalmer and Bekker reunited with [[Galaxy Commander]] [[Lars Magnusson]], who informed them about the situation in the [[Alshain Province]]. After calling an emergency session of the Council, Miraborg attempted to unite all the councilors, but violence erupted between them and he was to be evacuated. After the violence extended to the streets, Hjalmer addressed the nation on New Year's Eve in [[3152]], attempting to restore peace across the Dominion.<ref>''Dominions Divided'', p. 63-65</ref>

In May, Lars Magnusson returned after pacifying the [[Vega Protectorate]] and Alshain. He requested ''surkai'' for losing control of his Galaxy, but Miraborg refused and declared a [[Trial of Grievance]], which he won after in a half-minute by fatally wounding Lars with his ceremonial knife. Magnusson's honesty about his failure to rein in his troops and prevent much of the Civil War's worst moments allowed Miraborg to use Lars' admission as an excuse to kill what most considered a future Khan with sufficient popularity to rival Hjalmer himself. Miraborg comforted the dying man, and later decided to unite the Dominion launching a war against the [[Draconis Combine]], which caused a string of easy victories during their initial wave.<ref>''Dominions Divided'', p. 8587</ref>
