A light [[combat vehicle]] that first saw production in [[2692]]<ref name=TRO58u>''Technical Readout: 3058 Upgrade'', p. 68, "GAL-102 Galleon Light Tank"</ref> the '''Galleon''' proved to be an economical means of supporting [[infantry]] and [[BattleMechs]].  With a top speed faster than most 'Mechs, the Galleon was well-armed but lacked protection, carrying only three and a half tons of armor.  Despite this, the vehicle served well during the [[Amaris Civil War]], and after the [[Operation EXODUS|Exodus]], these tracked vehicles mostly fell into the possession of the [[Draconis Combine]] and the [[Free Worlds League]]. The Galleon is often paired with the [[Harasser]] Missile Platform.{{cn}}

The Galleon is armed with a single Jackson Model 17 [[medium laser]] and a pair of Model 12 [[Small Laser]]s. These weapons provide decent firepower for its weight class, enabling the Galleon to worry contemporary 'Mechs of the same tonnage as itself.

* Author [[Blaine Lee Pardoe]] stated in a [https://web.archive.org/web/20221102192457/https://blainepardoe.wordpress.com/2018/08/16/out-of-the-archives-the-battlemechs-i-wrote-about-or-designed/ blog entry] that, according to his memory which he admitted could be wrong, the Galleon was among the vehicles for which he invented the name and wrote the original background as initially published in TRO:3025, after being given only its art and game stats to work with for the TRO entry.
