"From the Ruins" is a short story published on BattleCorps by Christopher Purnell as part of the Operation Rat series.
"From the Ruins" followed Feodor Kazmanov, an assembly line worker at the Earthwerks Incorporated plant on Tikonov shortly after it fell to the Federated Suns during the Fourth Succession War. The House Davion assault damaged the capital city of Tikograd, and Kazmanov struggled to deal with living in a war-torn city while the new government instituted sweeping social and economic changes in everyday life.
