Defiance Motors was created when Defiance Industries ran into problems getting the engines they needed for their products. They later expanded into combat vehicle production.
During the Jihad the Tharkad facility was heavily damaged and many of its employees were killed in the fighting. The losses were estimated to reach 80%. As of 3079 the factory was only running at 40% of its pre-Jihad output.[1] The factory on Gibbs may have been destroyed or purchased by one of the neighboring industries as it isn't listed as being active in 3079.[2]
