History[edit]
Early Life[edit]
David was born on Odell in 3052. He was named by his mother after a deceased MechWarrior killed on Alyina, David Jewell, in an attempt to conceal his father's true identity. It was later revealed that David's father was Kai Allard-Liao; David Jewell, a member of the 10th Lyran Guards, was killed in action against the Jade Falcons on Alyina. Kai appropriated David Jewel's identity in order to hide his identity while on the run from Jade Falcon, and later ComStar forces. David was raised by his mother on Alyina for three years until they moved to the planet of Zurich.[5][6]
David and his mother resided on Zurich for a year, until a news report depicting his mother's heroism protecting a medical clinic attracted the attention of Tormano Liao, Kai's uncle. After seeing a picture of David, Tormano correctly guessed that David is Kai's son and invited Deirdre and David to Solaris VII, where both become his personal guests on his house on Equatus. In reality, Tormano held Deirdre and David as de facto prisoners to force Kai to obey Tormano, and not interfere in his machinations against the Capellan Confederation. Deirdre unsuccessfully attempted to escape with her son on 27 April 3056, as they were captured by Tormano's guards. Tormano ordered that Deidre was to be executed, but David not harmed in order to use him as future leverage against Kai. A team of Clan Jade Falcon Elementals, led by Kai's former enemy and later friend, Taman Malthus, arrived just in time to prevent the guards from carrying out the order, rescuing Deidre and David.[7]
After Kai defeated Tormano, he and Deidre reconciled, and Kai was for the first time introduced to his son.[8]
Jihad[edit]
During the Word of Blake Jihad, David vanished in approximately 3067, and family didn't hear anything about him for three years. It was later revealed than David was held captive in a Blakist camp on Kittery, where he met another prisoner, Devlin Stone. David became Devlin's his friend and trusted confident. David helped Stone to create the Kittery Prefecture, and later convinced his father, Kai, to present Stone to Victor Steiner-Davion, a meeting which was key to the creation of Stone's Coalition.[9]
Death[edit]
David died in early 3128, a loss which it was devastating for Devlin Stone. Cast adrift without his best friend and confident, he quickly became a virtual recluse, and two years later, he resigned and disappeared.[10]
