Operational History

The Crossing was an Trutzburg-class DropShip owned and operated by the mercenary unit Wolf's Dragoons. Initially, along with its sister ships Glenmora (Individual Trutzburg-class DropShip) and Misery (Individual Trutzburg-class DropShip) were the ships assigned to the Black Cats, a battalion of Alpha Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons). It carried them to the Battle of Terra (3151). The Black Cats were annihilated, so the DropShips were put on reserve... but didn't stay inactive for much long. Major Haya Tetsuhara, under orders of resurrect the long gone Zeta Battalion, took the ships for his reborn unit, becoming their transports and artillery platforms, the 21 October 3151.[1] Soon after, they carried Zeta on its first contract, inaving the Wolf Empire under contract of the Duchy of Tamarind. The 1 January 3152, on the planet Labouchere their artillery make short easily of the Wolf garrison, departing immediately. On the second target, Alula Borealis didn't need to make a single shot. On the third, Trellisane, the same. Accomplished their contract, on March, Zeta returned immediately to their secret base of Ilion.[2]

The DropShip saw much more action in their next mission, a raid on Gienah, capital of the Empire, on June. Posing as Free Guilds ships, they arrived undetected, but once on land, they have plenty of targets: after the Wolves landed their Union-C DropShips nearby, the Dragoon's Trutzburg's guns quickly blowned one in the ground, and a second when attempted to take off. The Wolves were forced to retreat.[3] After jumping and carrying Zeta to Alliago City, the Wolves capital, all three DropShips used their artillery to ensure Zeta's victory, before departing.[4]
