A subtype of the Transport DropShip concept, Troop Transport DropShips are military vessels designed to carry military personnel—typically infantry, with or without battle armor—into action, including deploying them in a combat zone or deploying troops for boarding operations in space. In this they differ from the usually civilian Passenger DropShips which are geared for comfortable travel, but are typically unarmed. Many troop transporters carry vehicles as well.
