Bearclaw II, more commonly known simply as Bearclaw, has been held and contested by several Clans at the same time for the majority of its history as a settled world<ref name="WORp232"/>

===Planetary History===
Bearclaw was once the capital of [[Clan Ghost Bear]] with a sizable enclave of [[Clan Nova Cat]] also present.  When Clan Ghost Bear moved from Clan Space to their Occupation Zone, they left possession of their enclave to [[Clan Snow Raven]] for their assistance in moving to the [[Inner Sphere]].  After [[Clan Nova Cat]] decided to join the [[Second Star League]], Clan Snow Raven came into full possession of the world after negotiations with Clan Nova Cat. However, [[Clan Hell's Horses]] quickly launched an offensive on this world capturing a third of the world from the Snow Ravens.  After several clashes, the Snow Ravens and the Hell's Horses reached an accommodation to share the world.<ref>''Field Manual: Warden Clans'', p. 129</ref>

====The Wars of Reaving====
In 3068, [[Khan]] [[James Cobb]] of Clan Hell's Horses entered into negotiations with Clan Snow Raven for the production of a compact, mobile shipyard, which Cobb intended to use as a part of his long-term plans for the Hell's Horses in the [[Inner Sphere]]. The Hell's Horses holding on Bearclaw played a part in the negotiations, with Cobb using the enclave as a bargaining point in the negotiations.<ref name="WoRp33">''The Wars of Reaving'', p. 33: "Secret Moves, Secret Worlds"</ref>

The Snow Raven's actions in the [[Galedon]] system in the Inner Sphere were reported to the [[Grand Council]] by [[Clan Diamond Shark]] and became the subject of a Grand Council meeting on 2 March [[3070]]. The shocking casualty figure caused by the Ravens led to calls for a [[Trial of Absorption]] against the Snow Ravens by [[Clan Steel Viper]], an action that only failed to pass a vote due to a number of abstentions and a series of votes cast against the motion by [[Clan Star Adder]] and their supporters, who had also been looking to Absorb the Snow Ravens.<ref name="WoRp48">''The Wars of Reaving'', pp. 48–49: "The Raven Absorption"</ref>

The failure of the vote to pass led [[ilKhan]] [[Brett Andrews]] to call for a vote of no confidence in the Grand Council, which also failed; this in turn led to an agreement between the leaders of the Cloud Cobras, Star Adders and Steel Vipers to act together to punish the Snow Ravens for their departure from the Honor Road. The three allied Clans selected a number of Snow Raven enclaves on Bearclaw, [[Brim]] and [[Hellgate]] as targets for retaliation and bid among themselves for the right to attack the various enclaves. The Steel Vipers won the right to attack holdings across all three worlds, while the Star Adders won the right to attack holdings on Bearclaw and Circe while the Cloud Cobras won the right to attack enclaves on Brim and Hellgate.<ref name="WoRp48"/>

The Star Adders were successful in their battles on Bearclaw, and went on to further successful [[Trial of Possession|Trials of Possession]] on Brim using the same forces. The Steel Vipers also managed to successfully seize a ''[[Summoner]]'' production facility on Bearclaw that the Snow Ravens had successfully defended against Star Adder Trials.<ref name="WoRp48"/>

Following the [[Society]] uprising in the Homeworlds and the two years of chaos that followed, in [[3075]] the reconvened Grand Council Abjured four Clans: the Diamond Sharks, Ghost Bears, [[Clan Jade Falcon|Jade Falcons]] and Snow Ravens. An extensive trade agreement between [[Clan Cloud Cobra]], [[Clan Star Adder]] and [[Clan Coyote]] in [[3086]] provided the impetus for [[Clan Stone Lion]] to launch an aggressive series of [[Trial of Possession|Trials of Possession]] for all of the Cloud Cobra enclaves on Bearclaw in [[3088]]. Clan Stone Lion bid the bulk of their [[Psi Galaxy (Clan Stone Lion)|Psi Galaxy]], and in some of the harshest terrain to be found on the planet they inflicted a string of defeats on the Cloud Cobra's [[Omicron Galaxy (Clan Cloud Cobra)|Omicron Galaxy]] as well as seizing the ''[[York (WarShip class)|York]]''-class destroyer [[Brimstone (Individual York-class WarShip)|CCS ''Brimstone'']] as ''[[isorla]]''.
