The BattleTech Salvage Box is a series of largely randomly assorted blind box BattleMech, Combat Vehicle and Aerospace Fighter miniatures released by Catalyst Game Labs intended for use in the classic BattleTech tabletop and Alpha Strike games.

Overview[edit]

The BattleTech Salvage Boxes were originally created for the 2019 Clan Invasion Crowdfunding Campaign. As part of the campaign at various pledge tiers backers received the choice of a number of ForcePacks, to avoid disadvantaging backers who picked the Lance ForcePacks (4 'Mechs) over Star ForcePacks (5 'Mechs), the Salvage Boxes were created to provide an additional extra 'Mech with each Lance ForcePack and ensure parity. Additionally, Salvage Boxes were also used to help bulk out the included rewards of lower level pledge tiers and backers could also purchase extra boxes as add-ons. Further unique Salvage Boxes were also created for one-off designs that could not be included in a normal Lance or Star ForcePack such as Aerospace Fighters. The overall concept would also be replicated again for the 2023 Mercenaries Crowdfunding Campaign.

Despite their important role in the crowdfunding campaigns, the success and response to the Salvage Boxes among the BattleTech community, serving as a low cost prize or blind gaming option, resulted in Cataylst creating a mass retail version drawing from all the 'Mechs developed from the Clan Invasion campaign.
