Brawler 'Mechs are armed with mostly long-range weaponry.[http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php/topic,38139.msg885016.html#msg885016] Unlike juggernauts, they are maneuverable enough to bring their potent arsenal to bear on the enemy with little support from other classes.

(Common sense and usage however run contrary to the definition provided by <u>Classic BattleTech Introductory Rulebook</u> which is an outdated rulebook. The common usage being that a Brawler is a mech that fights with short-range weapons and more than likely in melee as well, like an actual human brawler, while being faster than a Juggernaut but better armored than a Striker, and is very much seen as the opposite of the Skirmisher which tend to favor longer ranged weapons like the skirmishers of ancient Terra.)

These [['Mech]]s lack the mobility of skirmishers but make up for their lesser speed with longer range weapons and/or heavier armor. These 'Mechs often form the backbone of an assault force or act as mobile escorts for the painfully slow juggernauts that often comprise the main punch of an assault.
